Nuffin But the truth, take a break tonight. Do you even have a job. I’m sending this email before you respond to this ad with nasty azz comments. Enough already, The man is the leader!!!!!!!!

    • shaka zula says:

Going to need more than a prayer to help out in Bermuda!!Better send the 12 apostles and 4 thousand jobs..

      • paul says:

We need Jesus and his twelve apostles to solve our problems….our premier has to attend a prayer breakfast for Obama….. at what cost to we lot ?

        • Mazumbo says:

I find it hilarious how the O.B.A/ubp supporters are quiet when their puppet and imps are doing the same thing as they accused the P.L.P of doing.

      • Marc G. Daniels says:

Where is the outcry over the cost of this trip when our economy is in such dire straights?

By choosing to attend this event, the Premier placed greater emphasis on this campaign of building foreign relationships that he has been on recently over being present to show leadership during a moment of internal strife. No doubt this was a pre-arranged trip, however, a genuine leader should have cancelled this trip to maintain his presence on the island when internal strife was brewing; to show support & solidarity for both the management and labor.

One cannot merely claim a focus on social justice and not live it.

        • Kangoocar says:

We probably will never agree again!! But unlike you and your silent sheep who said nothing while your leaders were traveling all over the world ( while driving us into the ditch fiscally) with armies of people that should not have travelled at our expense (gombeys come to mind ) I will say I am disgusted by it!! I travell every other month and have no reason to denounce this unless I think it is a total wastes of time and money going to a nonsense event like this prayer BS with Obama!! Obama first off should be praying for forgiveness for turning a blind eye to the IRS targeting Republicans for Tax audits along with covering up the Benghazi thing, with nothing but lies! Back to my point, the Premier should have cancelled that trip to be present and seen to be dealing with the seriousness at hand!! I am pissed off that didn’t and will never hesitate to say it!!!

          • Independent says:

            @ Kangoocar,

You still bringing up lies about Obama? If you have an ounce of brain, and you think this man is bad, Mr. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld (not sure if correct spelling) must be the devil themselves inna?

            • Kangoocar says:

Independent , you are the classic ill informed left thinking democrat!! Bush/ Cheney/ Rumsfeld were doing what any good leader of a country would do!! And that is defend it!!! You lefties always make me laugh, somehow your memories seem to fail you when it comes to remembering that the US was attacked and 3000 mostly Americans but I will remind you a couple of Bermudians were killed!!! Also you are too dim witted to understand the the policies of Obama but when your personal finances continue to deteriorate being Bermuda relies heavily on the US, think obamacare??? That disaster of a president is now responsible for 48 million Americans on food stamps and has now gone over the $17 trillion debt amount and climbing everyday!!! If you think that will not effect you, then you truly are delusional!!! But you keep supporting him!!

              • Kangoocar says:

Independent, can you please inform me of ONE good fiscal thing Obama has done for the US and by extension that means us!! I made it real easy for you being I only asked for one!! Waiting????

        • Jus' Askin' says:

Progressive ‘Labour’ Party lost a lot of points with their silence ;-)

    • Nuffin but da Truth says:

      @Squirt,
your nic suits you,,but to educate your dumb azz it’s NOT an *ad*,it’s an electronic news article.

as to wether I have a job or not is NUNYA to you!

as to this article, perhaps someone would be kind to enlighten everyone how The Premier of Bermuda got DC.

    • The Dark Knight Returns says:

Squirt, are you mad? The Gov told the taxpayer that the Gov finances are worst then they thought. They even bamboozled certain taxpayers into agreeing to a furlough day, which is hurting the civil service. Bermuda you are being hoodwinked at every turn. The Gov doesn’t care about you, they just care about themselves. If Gov finances were really as bad as Mr. Richards and the Gov claim would it not be wise to use the funds only when truly necessary? You made a statement that the Premier is the leader but you did not elaborate leader of what. If you mean the Premier is the leader of the OBA you may be correct. If you are saying that the Premier is the leader of the country, then you are dead wrong. If the Gov is truly serious about saving money then get rid of the Premier post that way they would save save save. That way we wouldn’t have to provide housing for Premier. But hey, we obviously aren’t truly serious about saving money.

    • Mazumbo says:

Expensive breakfast, after eggs ,bacon, pancakes and toast ya to full to eat anything else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder IF T.D.Jakes was there, I think his prayers and presence would’ve been more effective.

  2. You Islanders - Cant Take Pressure says:

    - Too much pressure after the 1st meeting on gaming
    - the strikes
    - ace girl being suspended at chamber of commerce
    - only 5 of the 2000 jobs filled after 13 months in charge
    - UBP MP who gave you the seat wasn’t made a senator
    - Deputy still wants your job
    - Some still vexed they aint full Ministers no more
    - Public realises you need a sheet of paper and prepared speeches to communicate with them
    - Your ace girl Mrs B calling you an “Islander” who needs the ‘Common touch’

tough week, so take a trip mate!!

    • ubpOBA is at it's Cross Roads again says:

OHHHHHHHH CRAp lolololololol. I didn’t see them failing this fast.

  3. sage says:

This is a total waste of time and money.

    • Nuffin but da Truth says:

squirt backed the wrong man today!!!!,
      well said sage.

    • Impressive says:

Can you imagine if Paula attended a prayer breakfast in the midst of labor dispute, not to mention that he once again refused to comment and even stated its not a government issue.. Oh the irony.. So let’s pray to allow liquor to be sold on Sundays, lets pray to give gays more rights, lets pray to allow gambling on our island, lets pray to allow folks to smoke weed without worry,, lets just pray..

      • You Islanders - Cant Take Pressure says:

Paula didn’t need to take no more breakfasts mate, them there dinners round Ascots and scones and high tea in Fairmont Gold room had her well fed. don’t mention them fruit pastels

      • SMH says:

Paula travelled non stop and never attended to issues on hand. That’s why our fiscal state ran amok during her tenure!!!

        • watching says:

That is totally untrue and i bet if the records were revealed we would see that CC’s travel budget far outweighs Ms. Cox. In addition, his cabinet office staff budget far outweighs Ms. Cox as well. And from their press releases and off the wall comments, we can see that we are NOT getting our monies worth.

  4. paul says:

The OBA, needs a new Premier….. Michael Dunkley is the choice if we are going to go forward…..

    • Impressive says:

I dont know about a new Premier, the OBA just needs a Premier, they have been without one since they came into office.

  5. blackbird says:

Is this man ever in the country?

    • mixitup says:

Yea, to read a script then off again 2 days later…

  6. Family Man says:

Wonderful. The Premier and his chief of staff attend a “prayer breakfast” with President Obama and 3,500 of his closest friends. If I tried I don’t think I could come up with a bigger waste of money – other than maybe a stay in the Burj al Arab at a few thousand a night to rest his tired head.

Meet your new boss; same as the old boss.

  7. Rockfish#1and #2 says:

If Cannonier felt he needed prayer, he could have worshipped at any church in Bermuda—-at no expense to the taxpayer.

  8. blackbird says:

@Islanders – Cant Take Pressure lol, lol, lmao, but it’s true!

  9. No Effin Way! says:

So we had a strike, and this clown flies off to an AMERICAN prayer breakfast spending OUR money.

Get this clown out of office. Is he EVER IN BERMUDA.

    WTF!!!! I can’t believe it!

  10. more than enough says:

    prayer breakfast?
which is it, a prayer, with an emphasis on breakfast?
or a breakfast, with an emphasis on prayer?
either way, i find it hard to believe this is something bermuda considers important enough to spend any of our borrowed money on. although it would appear that many politicians do not agree.
and what was that kool aid drinkers thing again?
this guy is spending money like a drunken sailor.
no wonder he raised his travel budget, can’t wait to see this years projections.
i for one think he should be grounded.
how could this possibly be construed as anything more than mis-appropriation of funds.
the only people from bermuda, who benefit from this unnecessary expenditure are the two that went on the free trip.
they really make you wonder, no consideration for the deep debt we are in.
    absolutely incredible!

    • Kangoocar says:

You would be taken more serious ( and by the way I do agree with you on this one) if you were so damn mad when your plp were doing the exact same thing while they were RACKING up this huge debt!!!!

  11. blackbird says:

    Dunkley bring it on!

  12. Micro says:

And what interest of Bermuda and her people did this trip benefit?

  13. Nuffin but da Truth says:

Obama talks about the power of prayer and how it can empower a nation…

go look at their schools…prayer is GONE!

  14. JAWS says:

Bermuda is in a tidal wave of s*** and you went to DC to pray!

Here is my prayer for you OBA GET THIS FOOL OUT OF OFFICE HE IS WASTING MY VOTE & MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many other fish went away with you on this trip can someone please tell us voters.

  15. mixitup says:

This Gov’t is Sad, and shame on their advisors, I mean say it was a make or break deal you were traveling to!? Make something up! But a Prayer Breakfast while your country on on the brink? c’mon OBA

  16. SMDHT says:

This island is going to hell in a hand basket and the premiere is off to a prayer breakfast. He probably didn’t even pray for Hermuda while he was there.

    • MAKE MY DAY says:

BHO at a “prayer breakfast”?? Very strange as he NEVER goes to church in the States!! Was he wearing his Muslim outfit by any chance – or maybe his Kenyan outfit??

1078 days – before we FINALLY get rid-of-him from the W/H!!! That will be a *Champagne and Fireworks* night of celebrating, for tens-of-millions of Americans!!!

      • DarkSideofTheMoon says:

You do realize Bernews is a BERMUDIAN news organization…please go post in CNN

      • Independent says:

        @ Make MY Day

A** Hole Alert!!!! A** Hole Alert!!!!

I thought tens-of-millions of Americans just voted him in for another term Mr. Day.

You should speak for yourself, cause you aren’t even in the majortity in America lol.

  17. Ess Ess Dee says:

He can’t even go on a talk show or have a live debate in his own country? Craig bring ya azzzzzz back to Bda……stop spending the savings from all the government workers that are furloughed and actually move this island forward instead of saying that’s what you are doing! 4 gawds sake can we remove this farce 4 a leader!

Chris pls can we strike over this one 2 ……until he is gone? Sick of incompetent ppl in leadership roles…….Craig and Nalton lack the depth and substance to be effective in any leadership capacity!

  18. somuchless says:

He prob went to pray about how he can keephis travel benefits.

Now I thought eb was bad at flying every other day but this guy flies every day.

He shoulda been at the biu praying.

  19. squirt says:

Hewould Clown did way far worst you sorry forgetful arsses

    • Come Correct says:

Thankfully he hasn’t been the premier for the last few years, that still doesn’t make this right. Doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is Albert Einstein’s definition of insanity.

  20. I believe in prayer.. says:

I believe in prayer. It will provide many of the answers we need if we’re keen to listen and act accordingly. I do not however believe this trip was a necessary tax payers expense, not at this time.

  21. Anne says:

How much did this trip cost us?

  22. dafaq says:

its called networking. guess you guys are too busy bitching to f****** see it.

    • watching says:

Networking for what and with who? At a prayer breakfast?
It is called running from responsbility because he has NO CLUE what he is doing. It is called TIME FOR A CHANGE.

It is called TIME’s UP CRAIG!

  23. DarkSideofTheMoon says:

O wow, I thought he was still in Bermuda…wasn’t he just away?

  24. Grizz says:

It’s really bad enough that the Premier wasn’t on the Island while a labour dispute was taking place but why did his Chief of Staff have to go? I have to take a Furlough Day to try and save this Government money and all they keep doing is throwing it away!! This is exactly why I didn’t vote for this Furlough Day. A BUNCH OF BS!!

    • watching says:

Someone had to carry his bags…

      • Impressive says:

someone had to communicate in his terms what the others where saying, and then help him communicate to them how to respond.

        • Concerned Citizen says:

Like the TIEAs that bob Richards now lays claim too? Well, he took the wrong person with him!

  25. clearasmud says:

When an event has 3500 attendees we can be sure that no real business was done that would justify this expense. Accordingly, the premier should simply pay for this trip himself.

  26. Hmmmmm says:

And other news, the Tourism Authority has announced that February is “Love Month” with all sorts of activities for relationship-strengthening and romance. All sponsored by the Tourism Authority. So, we have people complaining about a Premier who travels too much, a tourism inititative devoted to love, a Government being accused of not keeping its word, a Tourism Minister promising 1000 jobs and a shovel in the ground this year and marches in the street……change anyone?

“How’s that hopey-changey stuff working out for yah?” – Gov. Sarah Palin, fmr. Governor of Alaska and Republican candidate for Vice President (2008)

  27. LOL (original TM*) says:

I think this was a bad move by the Government at this time for the record.

    LOL

  28. Bull in a hurry says:

It is time the OBA practices what they preach. This was a waste of money! In some ways this is worse than when the previous administration did it as Bermuda’s debt has continued to grow and our leaders can’t see the need to keep their a$$es home!
