Conyers Named Offshore Law Firm of Year
Conyers Dill & Pearman was recently named Offshore Law Firm of the Year at both the IFLR Asia Awards and the China Business Law Awards, reinforcing Conyers’ place amongst the top offshore firms in the region.
In addition to taking home one of IFLR Asia’s top honours, Conyers was also recognised for its involvement in the Focus Media take-private matter, which won Private Equity Deal of the Year. The US$3.7-billion privatisation of Focus Media Holding Limited is, to date, the largest privatisation of a Cayman Islands company listed on the NASDAQ.
Presented by the China Business Law Journal, the China Business Law Awards celebrate the key players in China’s legal services industry as well as the most noteworthy deals of 2013. Conyers was recognised for its work on five high-profile transactions, including the Focus Media deal as well as Baidu’s acquisition of 91 Wireless and Sinopec’s US$3.5-billion notes offering.
Celebrating legal innovation, the IFLR Asia Awards and the China Business Law Awards considered each participating firm’s landmark deals to help determine winners. In addition, the China Business Law Journal consulted widely with law firm clients, conducting interviews to determine the level of satisfaction with the services provided by each firm.
