IAAF World Relay 4×800 Race Team Named
Aaron Evans, Shaquille Dill, Lamont Marshall and Trey Simons will be representing Bermuda in the inaugural IAAF World Relay Event in the Bahamas on May 24th and 25th, with the team set to compete in the 4x800m relay.
Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] President Donna Watson sad, “The team will be accompanied by Dr. Freddie Evans and as President I will be traveling to the inaugural event.
“We are very excited about this event and look forward to the team participating. There will be multiple races for the 4x800m as there is no qualification standard and the winner of the event will be based on time. Of course we will be up against some tough nations like Kenya who woudl be favored in this event.
“As we have always said, our strength in Bermuda lies in the Middle/Distance events and the Jumps.”
I offer my congratulations for the four young men who have been chosen to represent Bermuda in the before-mentioned relays. Like Ms. Watson stated that middle distance is one of our strengths so that selection process must have been difficult. Bernews can you please assist me find 800 meters on Trey Simons, as I found out the other 3 gentlemen’s PB. Therefore then I will have an estimate time that they should run. Again all the best guys and finish strong.
