Children island-wide enrolled in Bermuda Hospitality Institute’s “Hospitality Skills = Life Skills” program are celebrating the completion of the course with a special final lesson on dining and etiquette, hosted at various hospitality businesses around the island.
Final lessons began in April and will continue through to mid-May. In addition to the final lesson in dining and etiquette, students enrolled in the four-month program have enjoyed lessons in Bermuda pride, Bermudian hospitality, and customer service.
The program, in its fourth year, ensures each upcoming generation is knowledgeable about and engaged in the importance of hospitality as a life skill, no matter what profession they may choose.
Most recently, primary 6 students from Francis Patton Primary School, along with class teacher Helen Paynter and Educational Therapist Dawn Burgess, were shown by former Francis Patton headmistress and current Grotto Bay employee Esme Williams the etiquette of table manners, the setting of a table, and the use of different utensils, before sitting down to enjoy breakfast.
