In addition, the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award for week 1 is Kijuan Franks from Flatts Victoria.
“As the captain of Flatts in their game against PHC Kijuan showed leadership and sportsmanship throughout the game. He performed well with both bat and ball and, importantly, displayed a courteous and respectful manner playing in the spirit of the game, a chivalrous manner,” the BCB said.
Congratulations to Kijuan Franks ( the Captain of Flatts Victoria) for winning this weeks Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award.
While we appreciate the Sponcers of the award giving to domestic cricket and those players who do well, I think the prize given should be cricket related i.e. a pair of cricket gloves, a cricket bag or anything cricket related. To give a young cricketer a prize for outstanding performance a bottle of liqueur is not a good thing. If this is all they have to give to a sportsman then I think the sport will be better served if the Sponcers withdrew. Your prize does not help the players or the sport. It is just a promotion and nothing more.
