Cricket: Bermuda To Host ICC Americas U17
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] confirmed that Bermuda will host the ICC Americas U17 tournament.
The competition will be played at National Sports Centre from August 18th to 23rd between Canada, USA and Bermuda. This tournament is an integral part of the qualification process for the ICC U19 CWC 2016.
Lloyd Fray, President of the BCB, said “It is a great honour to be able to have our young men competing on home soil in the international arena.
“Last year the BCB successfully hosted the World Cricket League 3 and we fully expect to showcase Bermuda’s unique heritage, culture and world famous hospitality in August. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Government of Bermuda for their support and assistance in securing this prestigious event.”
Ben Kavenagh, ICC Regional Manager said, “The Bermuda Cricket Board put a compelling case for this important competition to be brought to these beautiful shores.
“The Government of Bermuda and the BCB continue to evidence a productive and world-class partnership in delivering cricket development programs and hosting fine cricket tournaments.
“I look forward to some excellent cricket, new friendships amongst the young men, and an opportunity for the stars of the future to display their talents.”
