Bermuda Win Summer Jam Basketball Game
The Bermuda Basketball Youth Federation [BBYF] hosted the second night of its Basketball Summer Jam inside the Berkeley Institute Gymnasium last night [June 26]
The Summer Jam offered spectators another opportunity to watch the Bermuda Women’s Select team which featured former Female Athlete of the Year and Olympian Jenaya Wade-Fray as well as Erica Woods take on the NCAA Division 3 University of Pittsburgh Greenburg Women’s Basketball team.
A night after going down in a heartbreaker, the Bermuda Select team was able to pull off the win. The teams scored a combined total of 47 points in the first half with Bermuda leading 26-21.
Pittsburgh came out roaring in the second half, but Bermuda was able to weather the storm as they scored 37 points in the second half, and restricted Pittsburgh to 27 points to record the 63-48 win and level the series at 1-1.
Woods was the game’s MVP leading Bermuda with 25 points, while Wade-Fray chipped in with 24 points. Kayla Dames led the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg in the scoring department with 13 points, while Chianti Sivek added 10 points.
