Music Video: Ras Mykkal’s “Steer Clear”
Several Bermuda musical artists have come together in order to help to spread a message about the dangers of drinking and drinking, resulting in the first music video from title artist Ras Mykkal, called ‘Steer Clear.’
According to the video’s official description, “Dub poet and spoken word artist, Ras Mykkal has released his first music video. The title track Steer Clear was written in 2008 and the track and video were recorded in 2011. It is a follow-up to Excuse Me, Mr. Speaker, an anti-drunk driving songs, but taken from a different angle.

“The outspoken poet has increasingly broadened his lyrics and commentary to subjects applicable to local and international issues and had seen it fitting to revisit the problem of drunk driving.
“Steer Clear marks the second time Ras Mykkal has teamed up with music & video producer John Woolridge. The track features a number of talented Bermudians: Latosha Codrington and Francine Brown on vocals, and the young and multi talented poet and writer, Stephen Johnson. “Whency” Woolridge [brother to John] on Bass and Electric Guitar, John played all the other instruments, arranged, mixed and mastered the track.

Is he still an OBA Warwick candidate? If so, we have not seen head nor hair of him; you can’t only canvass when an election is looming. He did read the “Secret Plan” and must be following PMD has replaced PCC and they are seeking new “S’s”

Very well done and powerful video yet it comes as no surprise how you politicize everything. I’m beginning to pity you.
Ras Mykkal if you don’t already have this amongst other plans I suggest that you take “Steer Clear” on the road…e.g. Go around to schools and play it either in their Assembly Hall, individual classrooms so the youngster will be given something to consider before riding / driving and possibly living with the pangs of guilt for killing someone else,(if not themselves)
