Town Hall Meetings On National Training Plan
The National Training Board and the Department of Workforce Development are inviting members of the public to attend upcoming Town Hall Meetings to discuss the National Training Plan.
A spokesperson said, “These Town Hall meetings will take place in the West End at St. James Church on Tuesday September 23rd from 6:30pm to 8pm and in the East End at Francis Patton School on Thursday, September 25th from 6:30pm to 8pm.
“And we are looking to members of the public for feedback on the Plan before we move to Phase Two of the Plan – Implementation.
“The Plan offers several recommendations that will enable us to develop a competitive workforce that can participate in a global market, including:
- Expanding entry level positions including internships and apprenticeships;
- Highlighting pathways that exist for those wishing to pursue careers in the International Business, Hospitality, Construction and Health Sectors;
- Implementing grassroots trades education in schools;
- And offering incentives for various sectors.
“Panelists will include members of the National Training Board,” the spokesperson added. “For more information call: 297-7714.”

Interesting as to how there are no comments on this document which is comprehensive and full of information regarding our job market and opportunities.
No praise or interest from the usual complainers who go on about jobs and how there is no plan and the like. Interesting but predictable I guess.
Wow ! A town hall meeting ! The last time the OBA/UBP held a town hall meeting Crockwell and Pettingal tried to pull the wool over peoples eyes !
I’ll be going to this . Check out what’s being offered !
I think you should go with an open mind and positive attitude.
What a “CROCK” of you know what.
Spent a few “WASTEFULL” years in the 1970′s on the same thing.
Where did we get ?? “NO_WHERE”
The teachers union will do nothing except to “ASK FOR MORE MONEY and MORE HOLIDAYS.
And you do know that teachers take their holidays when the school is in besides the school vacations three times a year and public holidays ( 10 days a year)
We have too many school building for the number of students,so what do they do.??
AH HA! we want smaller classes and convince the public that their children will be better educated.
We still end up with the same pathetic results.
