Football: First & Premier Division Round Up
Footballers in the Premier Division, First Division and Corona League have all seen action recently, with the Young Men Social Club, Southampton Rangers, and PHC Zebras earning wins, while two other matches ended in draws.
First Division
Young Men Social Club 6 – Ireland Rangers 0
At the Bernard Park, Young Men Social Club got two goals from Saki Tuzo and Kenneth Butterfield as they defeated Ireland Rangers 6 – 0. Raymond Burgess and Jerolamon Pitcher added a goal each.
Devonshire Colts 1 - Somerset Eagles 1
At the Police Field, Lozendro Symonds gave the Devonshire Colts the lead in the 34th minute when he converted from the penalty spot, however just when it looked as if the Devonshire Colts would take all three points, Darrin Dowling converted from the penalty spot in the 90th for the Somerset Eagles to draw level at 1 – 1.
Premier Division
North Village Rams 0 - Southampton Rangers 2
In took a total of 292 minutes, but the Southampton Rangers finally did it, they scored their first league goal of the 2014/15 season. In their match at the Bernard Park against the North Village Rams, Jahkai Dyer scored from close range in the 22nd minute beating the North Village Rams goalkeeper Troy Hall to his right.
Some ten minutes into the second half, Khalil Symonds doubled the Southampton Rangers lead, neither teeam would beat the opposing goalkeeper for the remainder of the game as the Southampton Rangers came away with a 2 – 0 win over the North Village Rams.
PHC Zebras 2 - Somerset Trojans 1
At the Southampton Oval, Vashun Blanchette gave the visiting Somerset Trojans the lead in the 15th minute, but Diondre Dowling equalized for the PHC Zebras in the 43rd minute. two minutes later Shakir Smith gave the PHC Zebras the lead when he converted from the penalty spot. Neither team found the back of the net in the second half as the PHC Zebras went to the top of the table all alone with the win.
Hamilton Parish 1 - St. George’s Colts 1
After a scoreless first half at the Wellington Oval, Hamilton Parish took the lead in the 50th minute when Ryan Tyrrell scored, but in the 80th minute Mackie Crane equalized for the St. George’s Colts as the two teams played to a 1 – 1 draw.
