New Flavour: Riddell’s Bay Chocolate Ripple
Alex & Pete’s Bermuda Artisan Ice Cream has unveiled its newest flavour: Riddell’s Bay Chocolate Ripple. The line of artisan ice creams has been selling out at locations island-wide as Alex & Pete’s owner Peter Jovetic says it’s been hard to keep up with demand for the new Bermuda-made product.
“We have been in operation for only a month and the response has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Chef Peter. “I think consumers appreciate our product is freshly made with fresh ingredients and no artificial flavours or colours.
“You can feel the difference in weight of our pints of craft ice cream compared to some of the other brands. I think consumers also like the idea it is a Bermuda brand using uniquely Bermudian ingredients.”
Everything from the rich caramel and chocolate fudge sauces to the brownie chunks and black rum-soaked raisins is made from scratch in the company’s St George’s kitchens. Chef Peter added that more than a year’s worth of tasting and experimenting with different ingredients and combinations had gone into the product, resulting in a premium, unique line of ice cream.
Alex & Pete’s Bermuda Artisan Ice Cream is now available at even more select locations across the island. Noting the growing popularity of the Bermuda artisan ice cream among our tourists, Chef Peter encourages any business that wants to offer the product to contact him.
Including the new Riddell’s Bay Chocolate Ripple, seven flavours are now offered, including a series inspired by the island’s own Gosling’s Bermuda Black Rum and ‘national drinks’ the dark ‘n stormy and swizzle. The series includes St. George’s Black Rum & Ginger, St David’s Black Rum & Raisin and Rum Swizzle – made with Outerbridge’s Original Bermuda Rum Swizzle Mix.
Chef Peter’s small-batch creations also include Old Fashioned Pineapple Sherbet, Hog Bay Chocolate & Brownie Chunk, Southampton Sea Salt Caramel. There are plans to add a new flavour every month, and said to watch for Holiday Rum Eggnog next.
The ice cream is available at Lindo’s supermarkets, Miles Market and The Supermart in Hamilton, Harrington Hundreds, Selena’s Restaurant in St. George’s, Meltdown in the Old Cellar Lane, Bermuda Bistro at The Beach, and Blu bar and grill. Several further locations are expected to soon be announced.

as someone who has sacrificed his body for the greater good as one of Peters taste testers i can confirm that the market research into flavours and composition has been extensive and a lot of fun – he has some great stuff in the pipeline!!!
Sorry , at those prices too much of a luxury for me.
A ‘want’ not a ‘need’ .
My normal grocery shopping takes precedence and has for a good few years now.
Can you tell us what’s in it??? Believe or nort there a lot of Bermudians that eat reponsibly while I’m sure it tastes great I would like to know what and how much.
I think the Ice Creams are ok, for the price I will be getting Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerrys..I will try the Pineapple sherbet soon though, Sorry Peeps but just didn’t rate the Ice cream to be all that good..
