Charity Shops Join For Second Hand Saturday

November 25, 2014

Local Charity Thrift Shops have joined forces and come up with a new initiative called Second Hand Saturday. The main purpose is to encourage locals, during the busiest shopping time of the year, to shop and support Charity Thrift Shops.

A spokesperson said, “Our local Charity Thrift Shops have joined forces and come up with a new initiative called Second Hand Saturday. The concept came from an idea, which in the US called Small Business Saturday.

“This is celebrated on the Saturday [Nov 29] after the US Thanksgiving Holiday. The main purpose is to encourage locals, during the busiest shopping time of the year, to shop and support our Charity Thrift Shops.

“We also want to get the word out to those who may not be aware of each of the organizations listed. Each shop will have their own, in shop promotions and specials.”
