Golf: Bermuda Goodwill Round #2 Results
The 2014 Bermuda Goodwill Pro-Am Golf Tournament continued on Thursday [Dec 9] at the island’s golf courses, with some 62 teams from both Bermuda and overseas competing in the Tournament.
Junior Team Competition
Net
After two rounds of the Bermuda Goodwill Tournament Hidden Valley Golf Club have taken a 2 shot lead over Riverside Golf Club “B”. Hidden Valley followed up their 57 yesterday with a 55 today. Riverside shot 63 at Mid Ocean Club and is followed by local team Port Royal who has shot 58 and 57 over the two days.
Gross
Riverside Golf Club “B” are leading the Junior GROSS division with rounds of 56 and 67 [-18]. The Lakes Golf Club is six shots back after rounds of 64 and 65 [-12]. One shot back in third place [-11] is Breakers West Reece Jones with scores of 66 and 64.
Senior Team Competition
Net
Bellewood Golf Club and Lampton Golf Club “A” share the lead after two rounds, [-23]. Bellewood shot 59 and 59 while Lampton “A” shot 57 and 61. Lampton Golf Club “E” and Nassau Country Club are tied in third place with a two day total of [-20].
Gross
Lampton Golf Club “E” holds a 7 shot lead after two rounds [-14] with scores of 64 and 63.
In second place is Apawamis Golf Club and Lampton Golf Club “A” with a two day total of [-7].
Tied for fourth place are Bellewood Golf Club, [-6] and Sugar Mill Golf Club [-6].
Ladies Division
Net
A two way tie for the lead after two rounds are Hi5 Golf and the local Riddell’s Bay Team with [-16]. Lampton Golf Club “F” are in third place 1 shot back [-15] and Weston Golf Club in fourth with [-14].
Gross
Weston Golf Club top the leader board in the gross division with a fine two day total of [-6]. They have a 7 shot lead at the half way point over the Georgian Bay Club who are at [+1]. The County Club of New Bedford are at [+2] alongside St. Georges Golf Club.
Professional Stable Ford
Junior Division
GW King of the Georgian Bay Golf Club has a two day total of 40 points. He is two points clear of second place James Ondo of the Apawamis Golf Club, Ben McFaul of the Lampton Golf Club “E” and Terry Hatch from hidden Valley Golf Club each with 38 points.
Zach Johnson from Riverside Golf Club – 37 points, Chris Smith from Par 5 Club – 36 points, Thomas Doherty of Woodland Golf Club – 35 points, Scott Roy of Riddell’s Bay Golf Club – 34 Points and Chris Bevan of The Summit Golf Club “B” – 34 Points round out the Top 9.
Seniors
Danny Mijovic from Kings Riding Golf Club made a move today to take share lead with Ted Griffth from Woodland Golf Club. Both players have 38 Points after two days. Scott Spence of The Lakes Golf Club is tied for third with Dawyne Pearman from Port Royal Golf Club with 36 points. Dave Wettlaufer of Lampton Golf Club “A” has 34 points, Daniel St. Louis from Breakers West Reece Jones has 34 Points and John Rushnell from Oshawa Golf Club has 31 points to round out the top 7.
Ladies
Karen Nicoletti of the Country Club of New Bedford has 32 points and a 1 point lead over Jen Jaszek of Hi5 Golf. Megan Champman of Georgian Bay Golf Club has 29 points, Wendy Shackelton from London Hunt Club has 22 Points and Joanne Noble from Weston Golf Club has 20 Points and round out the top 5 ladies.
The players get a rest day today, Wednesday, and action will continue around the island’s golf courses on Thursday morning at 9am.
A spokesperson said, “Make sure to visit the website to see the full field results and hole by hole play at each of the courses. The final rounds will be played on Friday, with play off’s taking place at the Riddell’s Bay Golf Club if needed.”
