Boxing National Championships On Dec 13th
The Bermuda Boxing Federation, formerly known as the Bermuda Amateur Boxing Association, announced the first Annual Bermuda Boxing National Championships to be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014 at The CedarBridge Academy. This championship will be used to prepare the Bermuda Team for the Road to the Olympics 2016 and Youth Olympics 2018.
The BBF elected an Executive Committee on June 12, 2014 that comprises of the following:-
- Deborah Smith – President
- Leo Richardson – Vice President
- Eron Hill – Treasurer
- Joy Eve – Secretary
- Quinton Mallory – Liaison Officer
- Jamela Daniels – Public Relations / Marketing Officer
- Callan Bassett replaced by Luanna Rawlins – Public Relations / Marketing Officer
The BBF said they are eager to promote youth talent and support them in preparations for various upcoming boxing events which are qualifiers for the Olympics in 2016 and Youth Olympics in 2018:-
- AIBA Women’s Junior and Youth World Championships – May 14 – 24, 2015 in Taipei, Taiwan
- 2015 AMBC American Confederation Boxing Championships – June 24 – 29, 2015 [place tbd]
- Pan Am Games in Toronto, Canada – July 17 – 25, 2015 [Elite Men & Women]
- AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships – September 2 – 13, 2015 in St. Petersburg, Russia
- Youth Commonwealth Games – September 5 – 12, 2015 in Samoa
- AIBA World BOxing Championships Doha 2015 – October 5 – 18, 2015 in Doha, Qatar
