Rotherham Aware Of Nahki Wells Threat
Rotherham boss Steve Evans is well aware of the threat posed by Bermudian striker Nahki Wells as his team gets set to match up with Wells’ Huddersfield team today [Dec 26], saying that “Nahki Wells is a fantastic goalscorer and someone who has caused a lot of teams trouble.”
According to a report at TeamTalk.com, “Wells and the Millers have regularly gone head-to-head with each other over the past few seasons when the striker was at Bradford.
“Evans’ men always got the better of that battle as Wells failed to score in six games against the South Yorkshire club.
“But Wells did little to endear himself to the Rotherham fans last season when he tweeted that he was “buzzing” after Evans’ men were beaten 4-0 at home to Swindon in Sky Bet League One.
“Despite his lack of past success, Evans is wary of the 24-year-old’s threat.”
“I’m not going to tempt fate, because the one thing that Nahki Wells is is a fantastic goalscorer and someone who has caused a lot of teams trouble,” Evans said.
“That encouraged Mark Robins and Dean Hoyle to pay £1.8 million for him. When somebody pays that amount of money for you it tells you you’ve got talent.”
Nahki Wells received a different kind of attention recently when it was revealed that he would be the feature interview in the latest edition of Huddersfield Town’s “Give Us An H” fan magazine.
The official Town website said, “Town fans can read the thoughts of Nahki Wells, Mick Buxton, Chris Powell, Peter Hart and Dean Hoyle inside Saturday’s edition of Give Us An H when Town hosts Birmingham City.
“Town’s Bermudian striker Wells is the feature interview in the 44 page newspaper-style publication.
“Nahki goes into detail about the season so far at Huddersfield Town, as well as what it’s like to be a football over the festive period and having to resist that extra helping of turkey on Christmas day”
What more to the point words than what written here? “I’m not going to tempt fate, because the one thing that Nahki Wells is, a fantastic goal-scorer and someone who has caused a lot of teams trouble,” -(Rotherhams boss Steve Evans)
