Teen Admits Taking Motorcycle Without Consent

Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [Jan 20], a 19-year-old male admitted taking a motorcycle without the owner’s consent.

Jervon Taylor pleaded guilty to taking a Honda motorcycle without the owner’s consent. He was ordered to return to Court on 12 March for sentencing and Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered that a Social Inquiry Report.

Prosecutor Nicole Smith told the Magistrate that the cycle’s owner said the cycle had been stolen from his house on or about about 3rd October 2014, and Police were informed.

In late November, Taylor, carrying a pillion passenger, was seen to be riding the bike, was accosted, and Police were called in. Taylor initially told the Police that the bike had been borrowed from a friend; but later told Police that he had found the bike, complete with key in the ignition, on the Railway Trail.

He was bailed in the sum of $2,000 and a surety was required.
