Tourism Summit Information To Be Shared Online
The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] announced that presentations made at the Bermuda Tourism Summit yesterday [Jan 21] will be available on the BTA corporate website early next week.
“Stakeholders who attended, and some who heard about it on social media, are contacting us for access to presentations. We wanted to let everyone know we’re supremely interested in sharing the information and will upload it to our website soon,” said Glenn Jones, Director of Public & Stakeholder Relations.
“Registrants of the Bermuda Tourism Summit will receive an e-mail alerting them when the information is available for viewing and download,” the BTA said.
“Meantime, positive feedback is rolling in one day after the first-ever Bermuda Tourism Summit. At least 320 industry stakeholders attended the event at the Fairmont Southampton where they heard the Tourism Authority’s strategy and outlook for 2015.”
“We are thrilled to hear the feedback from our stakeholders today and hope it represents a springboard for greater collaboration, engagement and ultimately success going forward,” said Mr. Jones.
Below is a sample of the feedback the BTA received from stakeholders via email:
Feeling inspired and refocused to kick off 2015! Thanks for laying down a solid foundation… the next generation of tourism entrepreneurs are ready to stand up! - Belcario Thomas/Entrepreneur
It was a great experience and way to kick start the year and what we hope will be a successful start to our tourism product for years to come…. Job well done!!! - Christine Mihelcic/Dolphin Quest
Just a quick note of thanks for the most memorable day in my 29 years in the marketing and promotional business in Bermuda. Thank you for your perseverance and creative initiatives, which now allows us to believe again and also encourages us to work harder to put Bermuda back on top of the global tourism destination locations. You should all be so proud. Your audience certainly was. - Suzie Pewter/The Whitfield Group
Most participants I spoke to came out feeling less cynical and more positive about future prospects, particularly the future potential of America’s Cup. The panelists were very well informed and engaging and able to achieve the necessary buy-in from the stakeholders. This was a great first step and I hope and trust that this level of outreach to the stakeholders becomes the norm rather than the exception in the future. - Bushara Bushara/Newstead
I applaud the BTA for taking the initiative to put this Summit together. It was so professionally structured and so well attended that it provided an ideal platform to demonstrate true team spirit. The BDA and BTA have been collaborating since inception. It is very important that stakeholders and the public are provided such opportunities to understand the way our organisations actually do communicate and find solutions collegially. Combined, we are so much more and we look forward to progressing Bermuda together. - Ross Webber/Bermuda Business Development Agency
