Pink Ferry Resumes After Mechanical Problem
[Updated] The Ministry of Transport has advised that as of 10.00am this morning [March 24], the Pink Route ferry service is “cancelled due to an ongoing mechanical problem”. The Ministry said that they “will advise when services resume.”
Update 1.06pm: The Ministry said, “The Pink Route ferry has now resumed to normal services. We apologize for the interruptions.”
“Same-sh—different-day” What happened to maintenance? We’re seeing the exact same things happening with the buses. Filling a tank with fuel isn’t maintenance nor does it make anyone a mechanic
Thanks for this: “Update 1.06pm: The Ministry said, The Pink Route ferry has now resumed to normal services. We apologize for the interruptions.”
The introduction of the fast ferries was a good one…I’ll say that! However, when you remove the maintenance of these fleets, we see what happens. I find it amazing that our older ferries are still doing their jobs, but these newer ones are constantly having problems. We need answers as to who the mechanics are for these and the busses. Are they certified and well-qualified to carry out the requirements as needed? Something has gone wrong somewhere!
Pink Route is the old ferries….. I think you were mislead by the picture of the fast ferry being used.
Thanks. I don’t know the routes or the ferries used for them. However, my point is, that the ferries and busses aren’t being maintained as they should be. In addition, they are FILTHY dirty on the exterior – not sure about the interior. I was in Dockyard last week and was shocked at how dirty one of the ferries was. Also, someone mentioned that either the A/C was broken or the crew chose not to turn it on. Apparently it was stifling inside! Maintenance is key!
I think I found the problem. Happened to be at Marine & Ports mid afternoon yesterday. Noticed on my way out that all of the workshop guys were sitting off by the door doing absolutely nothing.
What goes on here? Maybe work had stopped because it was raining.
Is there a camera in the workshop so that management can see what is or is not going on inside the workshop? Do management even care if any work gets done?
Another example of a Government service that should be privatised. There are 3 pink route boats. Why are not 2 of them serviceable at any point in time?
Who let Furbert near de boats?

Thank goodness!!!
If you have a Goverment job all you have to do is Attend and not dissapear too often, and do some work when it suits you as you would not want to finish a job because then you always have somthing to do.
As long as you get your pay check and benifits besides no one can fire you,you cannot loose your job for goofing of too much as those above you are doing the same.
Productive thats for the Private Companies to worry about as they are the one who pay the TAXES to keep us paid.so no worry and no rush as i have to prepair to knock off in pleanty of time to clock out.
How do i know this, because i have observed while i worked in Goverment years ago.
It is a non productive culture, that will be forced upon us to change as it is so Big it is killing free enterprize.
