Play, Panel On Prostate Cancer At BUEI Friday
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] is getting set to host the latest in its BUEI Talks series, ‘A Slight Discomfort,’ with a unique one-man-play that offers a “funny, touching, warm, inspiring, informative, frank, and entertaining” look at the serious topic of prostate cancer.
The show and panel, set to begin tomorrow [May 8] at 7.30pm, will be presented jointly with the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
The play will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by Wayne Caines, featuring local urologist Dr. Charles Dyer, local physician Dr. Henry Dowling, playwright and prostate cancer survivor Jeff Metcalf, and local dentist and recent survivor Dr. John Dickinson.
The event poster says, “A funny, touching, warm, inspiring, informative, frank, entertaining play about…prostate cancer?”
“BUEI and Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre, in conjunction with the Waterfront on Pitts Bay, invite you to join us to watch this amazing one-man play. It explores the shared experience of being human and dealing with a crisis with grace and humour.
“It will take you from laughter to tears, from blushing to bravo, from thought to action, from tragedy to triumph.”
The evening will begin with the Harbourfront opening for dinner at 6.00pm, with the play itself to begin at 7.30pm in the BUEI Auditorium.
Tickets cost $20 and are available by calling 294-0204 or by visiting Oceans Gift Shop at BUEI or by calling 294-0204.
