Man Pleads Guilty To Trespassing & Stealing

September 4, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court, 54-year-old Norman Bell pleaded guilty to trespassing in Saltus Grammar School in May 2015 and stealing cooking supplies to an unknown value; on the same date, being in possession of burglary tools; and stealing over $300 worth of items from Pasta Basta in the same month.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Archie Warner that CCTV evidence and alarm systems had been instrumental in allowing police to capture Mr Bell and that when accosted, Mr Bell was away from his stated residence and had a crowbar in his possession.

The Prosecutor told the Magistrate that when police questioned Mr Bell about the items in his backpack, Mr Bell had said that they had come from his cousin’s house.

After reviewing his record which contained convictions, Magistrate Warner ordered BARC and SIR reports and set sentencing for 23rd October. Mr Bell was remanded into custody until that date.
