Court: 21-Year-Old Denies Importing Cannabis

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Oct 28], Warwick resident Gary Simmons pleaded not guilty to importing cannabis, possessing cannabis with intent to supply, and possessing a piece of equipment that was fitted and intended for use with the illegal substance.

All charges were alleged to relate to an incident in St George’s on 6th October.

The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that the alleged weight of the cannabis was 139.2 grams.

The Magistrate set trial for January 2016, set bail at $5,000 with one surety, and ordered the 21-year-old surrender his travel documents.
