Court: Woman Admits Stealing From Dollar Depot
Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Oct 13], a 38-year-old woman pleaded guilty to stealing olive oil hair gel, cholesterol hair treatment, a sandwich container, and other items to the total value of $15.00 from the Marketplace’s Shelly Bay Dollar Depot in September 2015.
Evidence read-in by the Crown Prosecutor was that Monique Shannon was seen on the store’s CCTV system as she collected the items and then left without paying.
She was accosted outside the shop, her bag was searched, and the items were discovered and recovered. Police were called and she was arrested.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a Social Inquiry Report, set sentencing for December, and granted bail at $1,000.
