Just For Laughs Set To Return To Bermuda
The annual Just For Laughs comedy event is getting set to return to Bermuda for its tenth edition in January, featuring American Latina comedy powerhouse Cristela Alonzo, up-and-coming Canadian comedian Ivan Decker, Scottish superstar Danny Bhoy, and host Alonzo Bodden, with Improv Bermuda to serve as the opening act for all shows.
The event will feature several shows, including ‘Double Bill! Alonzo Bodden and Danny Bhoy’ on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 8.00pm at City Hall Theatre, with tickets costing $45 each.
The second show will be a ‘Cabaret Show’ on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 8.00pm at Fairmont Southampton’s Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre, with tickets costing $89 each; drink service will be available at the table, with an optional finger-food menu.
Gala Shows will be held on Friday, January 8 at 8.30pm and Saturday, January 9 at 7.00pm and 10.00pm at Fairmont Southampton’s Mid-Ocean Amphitheatre, with tickets costing $79, $89, and $99 respectively.
A spokesperson said, “Just For Laughs veteran Alonzo Bodden is the Season 3 winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. He is a regular on NPR’s ‘Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!,’ recently filmed his second stand-up comedy special, tentatively titled ‘Historically Incorrect,’ and filmed a guest role on the new ABC sitcom Dr. Ken starring Ken Jeong.
“He also starred in the final season of Showtime’s award-winning series Californication alongside David Duchovny. In 2011, he starred in his own Showtime comedy special ‘Who’s Paying Attention?’ and currently hosts a weekly podcast of the same name.
“This year, he will return to share the stage with Danny Bhoy for the popular Double Bill show at City Hall, where both comedians will perform extended sets. Different material will be presented for the shows at the Fairmont Southampton.”
“Perhaps the most travelled comedian working on the world today, Scottish sensation Danny Bhoy has built up a massive following in Australia, New Zealand and Canada, where he regularly tours record-breaking shows.
