Court: 48-Year-Old Admits Assaulting Co-Worker
Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Nov 23], a 48-year-old man admitted assaulting a co-worker, with the Court hearing the altercation stemmed from an issue involving a banana peel.
Mr Eardley Simons pleaded guilty to unlawfully assaulting a co-worker and causing him bodily harm on 7th August this year.
The Crown Prosecutor told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that the two men worked at a business in Warwick.
The Prosecutor said that Mr Simons had retrieved a banana peel his co-workers had discarded, and put it in his co-workers pants pocket.
On the following day, the co-worker discovered the banana peel in his pants pocket.
Mr Simons then punched the man in the face saying: “I am tired of you.”
Police located and arrested Mr Simons, and he admitted the assault.
The Magistrate ordered a Social Inquiry Report, set sentencing for January 2016, and granted bail at $3,000.
