Photos & Video: Bermuda “Black Friday” Sales
Locals made their way to Hamilton early this morning — with a few dedicated shoppers lining up since last night — to take advantage of the Black Friday specials being offered by a host of stores.
The Phoenix, which had one of the largest lines, opened their doors at 4am this morning [Nov 27], with enthusiastic shoppers making their way into the store to take advantage of deeply discounted rates.
Other local retailers, such as Brown & Co, Ptech, A.S Coopers, Perry Collection Gibbons Company, CellOne, and Digicel also opened early, welcoming in customers at 4am, 5am and 6am. Some stores offered giveaways, while others had DJs playing music to entertain the crowds.
A few businesses beat the morning rush by opening on Thursday evening with iClick, the Complete Office, Logic all opening at 8pm last night, while Gibbons Company offered their both options, opening last night as well as early this morning.
.
Paula Clarke from Gibbons Company told Bernews, “Gibbons Company opened last night from 6pm till 9pm, and we were busy all night, to past 9pm and so far it has not affected the shoppers this morning.
“We’ve had lines outside all of our doors on Reid Street and Church Street for both the home store and the main stores. So, we’re very happy, our customers are happy, they’re loving the savings and everybody is in a good positive mood. I think this is a good kick off to the holiday season.”
