Results: Cycle-Cross Series Race At Shelly Bay
Race three of the cycle-cross race series was held this morning [Dec 20] at the Shelly Bay Field with Alyssa Rowse, Marcel Hatherley and Dominique Mayho all finding the winners’ circle.
The racing was very intense from the start and Dominique Mayho immediately powered away from the field, lapping all but two of the competitors in the 45 minute race. Kaden Hopkins and Chequan Richardson rounded out the podium in the field of 15 men.

In an anticipated battle, Warwick Academy student Alyssa Rowse bested Marian University cyclist Gabriella Arnold in the 30 minute women’s race. Unfortunately Arnold was struck by an errant football from match being played on the the adjacent field which unsettled her but caused no injury. Eileen Mullowney finished third.

This concluded the originally planned three race series but the organisers are looking at adding an additional event in the new year given the success of the events at Shelly Bay and Astwood Cove.

Oh yes…and how about an event brought in not unlike that ninja obstacle coarse thing and sell the televised right to syndication to the highest bidder…doit in a calm bay with lights at night…jet ski races with a show at intermission..
