Basketball: Flyboys & Thunder Cats Win
The Cellone Island Basketball League continued at the CedarBridge Academy Gymnasium with a big night in the league which saw the Leagues defending Champions take on the current number one seeds, the game produced 109 points between them of the 210 points scored on the night.
In the Opener the Flyboys defeated the young Skyforce team 57 – 44, Kieron Burgess led all scorers with 23 points for the Flyboys, while the Skyforce got 14 points from Shawn Tucker.
Game Two was the game of the week, which saw the defending champions Thunder Cats inflict only the second League loss on the season to the #1 seed Twisters 58 – 51. The win for the Thunder Cats was their 10th win of the season, Chris Crumpler scored a game high 26 points to lead the Thunder Cats to victory, while the Twisters got 25 points from Kevin Stephens.
