B&V: “Product Is Unaffected By The Recall”
Following the news that certain Mars chocolates have been recalled in over 50 countries after a customer found plastic in one, Butterfield & Vallis – the official distributor of Mars in Bermuda — said their “product is unaffected by the recall as they are manufactured in a different plant.
“Chocolate maker Mars has ordered a recall of chocolate products in 55 countries,” the BBC reported. “In the UK the products affected include funsize Mars and Milky Way bars and boxes of Celebrations.
“It comes after a customer in Germany found bits of plastic in a Snickers bar in January. The plastic was traced back to the Mars factory in the southern town of Veghel in the Netherlands.
The BBC report added that the recall “covers mostly countries in Europe and does not extend to the US, where Mars is based.”
A statement from Butterfield & Vallis said, “Mars recently announced a precautionary recall of certain Mars chocolates after a consumer found a piece of plastic in a Snickers bar. All of the recalled chocolates were manufactured in the Netherlands.
“Butterfield & Vallis is the official distributor of Mars in Bermuda and our product is unaffected by the recall as they are manufactured in a different plant. For further information, please visit our website www.bv.bm for the full statement from Mars.
