BFIS Alumni Committe Hosts Networking Events
The BFIS Alumni Committee in Bermuda recently hosted after‐work cocktails on January 28 in order to network and raise funds for the BFIS Alumni Scholarship, with an additional event set to be held on February 25.
The upcoming event will be a scavenger hunt, held from 6.00pm to 8.00pm with teams of five competing and cocktails offered at the finish line.
Donita Stevens, Alumni Committee Co‐chair, said, “ We had a good turnout and raised another $500 for the scholarship and got lots of interesting ideas for other events.”
Nicholas Butterfield, a BFIS Alumn working in London, said, “It was a great turnout, and was really nice to meet some of the other BFIS alum in London that could attend, and also some friends that are Bermudians working in the industry out here. Overall it was a great networking night, and a fun time.”
A spokesperson said, “BFIS Alumni currently in London organized their own networking event the following Thursday, Feb 4th which was well attended by both alumni and other Bermudians working in the City.
“The BFIS Alumni Committee’s mission is to serve as a platform for the 163 BFIS graduates and interns who are now working in the insurance and reinsurance market, to network and develop skills relevant to their chosen disciplines.
“The Committee, which is comprised of Bermudians representing almost all areas of insurance and reinsurance, will host a number of initiatives and social events throughout the year.”
