Claire Conyers Wins Outstanding Teen Awards

The 33rd annual Outstanding Teen Awards ceremony was held on Saturday, March 12 at the Greater Heritage Worship Centre, with nominee Claire Conyers winning for Leadership, Academic Achievement, and Outstanding Overall.

The evening’s winners included Spiritual Leadership: Sophia Hamilton and Jordon Simmons-Trott of CedarBridge Academy; Sports: Sydney Mason and Tyler Smith of the Bermuda High School for Girls; Leadership: Claire Conyers of Warwick Academy and Liam Peniston of Saltus Grammar School; and Most Progress: Christalee Woolridge of the Berkeley Institute and Rollin R. Nathan Jr of Bermuda Institute.

Additional winners included Community Service: Nia Dailey and Josiah Smith of the Berkeley Institute; Perseverance: Ceannda Barrington and Joshua Santaucci-Smith of the Berkeley Institute; Academic Achievement: Claire Conyers of Warwick Academy and Krysten Burrows of the Berkeley Institute; Visual Arts: Celine Morton and Timothy Claude of Warwick Academy; and Performing Arts: Nia Dailey of the Berkeley Institute and Cathal Rynne of Saltus Grammar School.

A spokesperson previously said, “The Bermuda Outstanding Teen Awards Presentation is held to honor and salute the island’s outstanding teens in 11 areas of excellence.

“The nominees for this program are senior year high school students. They must be nominated by their school, church or youth organization. All nominees are acknowledged during the ceremony and each receive a scholarship award towards further education.
