Women’s Futsal League: Dandy Stars & PHC Win
Following the latest round of Women’s Futsal and with only one more league game remaining, Dandy Stars will be crowned the new 2016 League Champions as they have an insurmountable lead over second placed PHC Lady Zebras.
In the first game, Dandy Stars won by default over YMSC. Then defending champions PHC overcame a determined Somerset Hurricanes team whom, despite the final score, were always a threat to win the game.
In the first half both teams went back and forth, with outstanding saves by both team’s keepers keeping the score low at 4 – 2 in favor of PHC.
In the second half, the early momentum was with Somerset who kept the pressure on PHC with their 2 goals. However, the Lady Zebras kept their composure to end the game strong scoring 7 goals to win 11 – 4.
Symira Lowe-Darrell was outstanding for PHC scoring 7 goals. Somerset’s goal keeper Svanna Fisher was their most outstanding player, making a series of incredible saves.
