Cricket: East v West All Star Tournament Results
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced the results of the Axis All Star Primary and Axis All Star Middle school matches played on Thursday 16 June, National Sports Centre, North Field.
In the first match, the Primary West All-Star Team batted first and scored 76 runs. This total was passed by the East with one over to spare. Four individual trophies were awarded for outstanding performances in this game:
- Axis Primary School MVP West – Katherine Bean – West End
- Axis Primary School MVP East – Layla Perry-Burrows – Axis Angels
- Axis Primary School Play of the Game West – Asia-Leigh Hollis – Warwick Academy
- Axis Primary School Play of the Game East – K’Xiyae Gibbons – West Pembroke
In the Middle School match the girls from the West exacted revenge on behalf of their Primary counterparts by posting an imposing total of 90 runs. Despite some valiant batting from the East players the West bowlers, led by Brianna Ray, restricted the East All-Stars to 64 runs. The four individual trophies awarded for outstanding performances in this game were:
- Axis Middle School MVP West – Trinae Edwards – TN. Tatem
- Axis Middle School MVP East – Enyce Astwood – Whitney
- Axis Middle School Play of the Game West – Brianna Ray – Saltus
- Axis Middle School Play of the Game East – Satia Burchall – Whitney
BCB President, Lloyd Fray, said, “The inaugural Axis All-Star game has been a magnificent day for girl’s cricket. 48 girls competed in the 2 matches to showcase their skills in an outstanding environment at National Sports Centre.

The BCB said they were “pleased and honoured to have Cup Match legend and the oldest living Cup Match player and captain, Mr. Leroy ‘Tubby’ Richardon on hand to present the awards with Sally Trott and James O’Shaughnessy from Axis Capital.”
