Woman Charged: Conspiring To Import Heroin

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Aug 15], a 55-year-old woman was charged with  conspiring with others to import heroin which was alleged to be worth $250,000.

Denise Morris of Warwick was ordered to appear at the next Supreme Court Arraignments on 1st September, when she will plead to the two charges put to her in this morning’s Plea Court.

The first charge was that she conspired with others to import diamorphine [heroin] with an alleged street value of $250,000. The second charge was that she possessed $15,210 in cash which was the proceeds of criminal activity.

Ms Morris was granted bail of $25,000 with a surety, ordered to surrender her travel documents, not leave Bermuda without the Court’s permission, and report to Hamilton Police station three times a week.
