BFRS Extinguish Panel Van Fire In Warwick

Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel extinguished a vehicle fire on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick at approximately 7:05am this morning [Oct 16].

The BFRS said, “At approximately 7:05am on Sunday, October 16th, the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on St. Mary’s Road in Warwick.”

Fire Service spokesperson Staff Officer Sergeant Delton White stated “a vehicle was reported to have visible flames and smoke emitting from the engine compartment.”

“The Fire Service responded to the incident with three vehicles staffed with 8 personnel to find a large panel van fully involved with fire that the owner unsuccessfully attempted to extinguish with a fire extinguisher prior to our arrival. Two Fire Service personnel dressed in full protection then extinguished the fire.

“There were no injuries as a result of the fire and it is currently under investigation by a Fire Service investigator.”
