Jackson Receives Community Service Award
The Bermuda Cricket Board congratulated BCB National Academy Player, Sancho Jackson, who has been awarded the Kathleen Faries Award for Community Service. Sancho completed 540 hours of service to the community during the 2015-16 Academic Year.
Sancho Jackson stated, “I chose the Bermuda Cricket Board to donate my award so that it can help the youth academy grow. I have been a part of the National Academy for a few years and it has been a great experience and even allowed me to play cricket in South Africa.”
President of the BCB, Mr. Lloyd Fray stated, “I would like to congratulate Sancho on this laudable achievement and thank him for donating $500 in the name of this award to the Bermuda Cricket Board’s youth program. A core part of being a National Academy player is to give-back to the community and Sancho has set a fine example for other players to follow.”
Mr. Fray concluded, “I wish Sancho all the best in his future endeavors and look forward to watching him progress both on and off the field.”
Congratulations Sancho on this remarkable achievement. Its refreshing to see youngsters having a positive impact both on the cricket field and in the community. With all the negativity we have been experiencing in sports in recent years,youngsters like yourself,gives us hope that the future of our sports are in good hands.
