BLDC Extends RFQ Deadline For Ships Wharf
The Bermuda Land Development Company Limited [BLDC] is extending the deadlines for the recently launched Requests for Qualifications [RFQ] for two projects at Ships Wharf: a cargo port and an energy facility.
Applicants now have until June 29, 2018 to submit their qualifications for the cargo port and until October 23, 2018 for the energy facility.
Francis Mussenden, Chief Executive Officer, Bermuda Land Development Company Limited, says: “To date, the interest in these projects has been significant. Following recent meetings with Registered Proponents, we have determined that extending the deadlines is in the best interest of both the projects and Bermuda as a whole.”
I am always skeptical when I see deadlines extended – does that mean there has been no interest?
Good day. The good news is BLDC has received significant interest for both of the RFQs. The reasoning for the extension is to create an RFQ process that results in the best selection of a Proponent for each of the projects. Based on input and feedback from the Registered Proponents, BLDC has extended the deadline in order to provide the information they are seeking, so they, in turn, can submit thorough responses to our RFQ. Thanks.
