OBA Extends Condolences To Philip Family
The OBA “extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ira Philip. Mr. Philip was widely acclaimed as a Bermudian historian and journalist,” Opposition Leader Jeanne Atherden said.
Ms Atherden said, “On behalf of the One Bermuda Alliance, I extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ira Philip. Mr. Philip was widely acclaimed as a Bermudian historian and journalist.
“He spoke on issues of importance to the black community and recorded the lives and accomplishments of prominent black Bermudians.
“Mr. Philip ensured that the important influence of trail blazers, like Dr. E.F Gordon and Mr. Alma Champ Hunt, would be given a prominent place in our history. His contributions have been immortalized in his many writing. Ira Philip has now passed the baton.“
