The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] announced that the partnership between the BCB and One Communications “will be further enhanced this season with the addition of two new exciting Championship matches.”

“The One Communications First Division Championship Cup will be played on Sunday August 5th with the One Communications Premier Division Championship Cup on Sunday August 12th.
“Each game will feature a new championship title, cash outlay for teams, and prize money for the man of the match, whom will be celebrated at the victory presentation.
The teams competing in this year’s inaugural edition are:
- Flatts VRC v Cleveland – First Division Championship Cup – August 5th – St. John’s Field
- Southampton Rangers v St. David’s – Premier Championship Cup – August 12 – Wellington Oval
Lloyd Smith, President of the BCB, said: “We are very pleased to be able to add these additional cup competitions into the end of the 50 over schedule this year.
“It’s been such a pleasure to be involved with One Communications, as one of our major sponsors for Senior Cricket in Bermuda. We look forward to growing together as we improve our domestic cricket and communities.”
Brian Lonergan, Chief Commercial Officer of One Communications, said: “One Communications has established a long and successful partnership with the BCB.
“The implementation of these two new Championship Cups is a natural extension of our continued involvement in supporting communities through our clubs and the sport of cricket. I look forward to two outstanding games of cricket in a fun and safe environment.”
Maybe if they invested more money towards actual development / senior programs with coaches that actually can coach and make players better, things would be a lot better.
