Bermuda Digest Of Statistics 2018 Released
Today [Jan 23], Minister for the Cabinet Office Walton Brown, released the Bermuda Digest of Statistics 2018 from the Department of Statistics. The report reflects data collected primarily between 2007 and 2017.
The Minister noted, “The Digest is structured into ten sections and contains brief quick facts and charts for each section. There are more than 60 statistical tables which provide a wealth of data about Bermuda’s social, demographic and economic conditions.”
Some of the 2016-2017 highlights include:
- The number of visitor arrivals increased by 7% to 687,625.
- Government revenue increased by 6% and expenditure decreased by 1%, resulting in a deficit of $119 million.
- The number of registered road vehicles increased by 3% to 49,019.
- The number of road casualties decreased by 16% to 635.
- The value of goods exported increased by 41% to $12 million.
- The number of divorces granted increased by 44% to 173.
- Private school enrolment declined by 6% to 3,103 students.
