Regiment Troops On Exercise This Weekend
Soldiers will practice their public order skills this weekend, as Royal Bermuda Regiment troops will be on guard at the Link Bermuda headquarters in Devonshire as part of their training in the protection of vital points around the island.
Major Preston Gill, who will command the exercise, said: “Our soldiers continually work on their skills in order to provide the most professional support to the civilian authorities possible.
“We are always grateful for the support the RBR receives from the people we work to protect and no one need feel alarmed if they see soldiers on manoeuvres in and around Link Bermuda on Saturday and Sunday.”
He added a total of 60 soldiers will be deployed for the exercise, but no disruption to traffic or homes in the surrounding area is expected.
