ASW Law Celebrates International Women’s Day
On 8 March 2019, local Bermuda law firm, ASW Law Limited hosted a ‘harbor-side chat and breakfast’ at the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club to celebrate International Women’s Day 2019.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is #balanceforbetter. Guest speakers Laura Taylor of Nephila Capital Ltd., Gita Gutierrez of the Information Commissioner’s Office and Rebecca Singleton of TABS provided insight on how to accelerate the gender balance in Bermuda.
The event opened with an introduction from Sam Saunders of ASW on the importance of International Women’s Day, followed by a thoughtful conversation with guest speakers led by moderators Kim Willey and Becky Vernon of ASW on various topics including creating allies, boardroom quotas, representation at the c-suite and the politics of intersectional inclusivity.
Neil Horner, Head of Corporate at ASW, remarked that, “As business leaders, it is important to stay mindful of who’s at the table and who’s missing. From hiring processes to networking opportunities to client outreach, ASW is working hard to ensure that our culture genuinely embraces gender equality.”
