Football: Premier, First Division Weekend Results

Footballers in the Premier Division and First Division took to the field this weekend, with the Dandy Town Hornets, Devonshire Cougars, PHC Zebras, Vasco, Devonshire Colts, Flanagan’s Onions, Somerset Eagles, and St. George’s Colts earning wins, while one other match ended in a draw.

Premier: Paget Lions 1 Somerset Trojans 1

At the Southampton Oval, the ninth place team Paget lions got a 90th minute strike from Dion Stovell as they drew 1 – 1 with 10th place Somerset Trojans.

After a scoreless first half, Jaz Rattery-Smith had given the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 52nd minute when he converted from the penalty spot.

Premier: Boulevard Blazers 1 Dandy Town Hornets 3

At Lord’s in St. David’s, the Dandy Town Hornets came from behind to defeat the Boulevard Blazers 3 – 1. The Boulevard Blazers took the lead in the 14th minute when Khiry Easton scored, but Omar Wilson would equalize for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 32nd minute.

In the 49th minute, the Dandy Town Hornets would take the lead through an own goal and Angelo Simmons closed out the scoring with a strike in the 89th minute earning the Dandy Town Hornets the 3 – 1 win.

Premier: X-Roads 2 Devonshire Cougars 3

At the Garrison Field, the Devonshire Cougars defeated X-Roads 3 – 2, Allan Douglas would give the Devonshire Cougars the lead in the 6th minute, Donavan Thompson equalized for X-Roads in the 34th minute and on the stroke of half time X-Roads took the lead when Nassir Richardson scored.

Three minutes into the second half Chae Brangman pulled the Devonshire Cougars level and then Demetri Daniels scored the winner for the Devonshire Cougars in the 67th minute.

Premier: Robin Hood 0 PHC Zebras 1

The top of the table clash at the BAA Field that kicked off at 6:30pm saw the visiting League Leaders PHC Zebras defeat second place Robin Hood 1 – 0.

The only goal of the game came in the 24th minute when Marco Warren scored to give the PHC Zebras a nine point advantage at the top of the standings.

First: Southampton Rangers 2 Vasco 3

At the Southampton Oval, Vasco picked up their second League win of the season with a 3 – 2 win over a Southampton Rangers team that went down for the first time in the First Division in over a two year period.

Vasco took the lead in the 10th minute when Ryan Lopes scored, but two minutes later the scores were level when Ezekiel Stoneham scored for the Southampton Rangers. Jarazihno Bassett gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 27th minute only to have Ricaedo Ponte level the score at 2 – 2 in the 35th minute.

Just when it would appear that the match would end in a draw Ponte scored the winner for Vasco in the 90th minute.

First: Young Men Social Club 0 Devonshire Colts 2

At the Police Field the Devonshire Colts defeated Young Men Social Club 2 – 0. Quinn Simmons opened the scoring in the 44th minute, and Daniel Ball doubled the lead in the 78th minute to earn the Devonshire Colts the win.

First: Ireland Rangers 0 Flanagan’s Onions 1

After a scoreless first half at Malabar, the visiting Flanagan’s Onions got a 71st minute strike from Mikale Williams as they defeated Ireland Rangers 1 – 0.

First: St. David’s 0 Somerset Eagles 3

At Lord’s in St. David’s, the Somerset Eagles moved to the top of the table following this 3 – 0 win over St. David’s. Tahj Wade gave the Somerset Eagles the lead in the 2nd minute, Anwar Telford doubled the lead when he found the back of the net in the 53rd minute and Leo Burgess closed out the scoring with a goal in the 78th minute.

First: St. George’s Colts 3 Wolves 0

At the Wellington Oval the St. George’s Colts defeated Wolves 3 – 0. Tre McCallan scored twice and Jahkai Brangman added the other goal.
