Bermuda Ball Hockey: Spitfires & Rangers Win
Bermuda inline ball hockey action recently resumed at the PCC Hockey Rink with a double header that produced 21 goals.
Strathroy Rockets 4 – Windsor Spitfires 6
The opening game saw 10 goals scored as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Strathroy Rockets 6 – 4.
At the end of the first period, the score was deadlocked at 1 – 1. The Strathroy Rockets took the lead with Adam Mattatall opening the scoring, but the Windsor Spitfires drew level when Chris Grantier scored.
The Windsor Spitfires outscored the Strathroy Rockets 3 – 1 in the second period; Richard Campbell scored a hat-trick for the Spitfires, while Aaron Cook scored the lone goal in the period for the Rockets.
Both teams scored two goals each in the final period. Jacob Notermann scored twice for the Windsor Spitfires, while Mattatall and Brandon Willett scored a goal each for the Strathroy Rockets.
London Knights 5 – Gloucester Rangers 6
In the nightcap, the Gloucester Rangers edged the London Knights 6 – 5. Pete Brodsky led the Gloucester Rangers to victory with a hat trick, while Christopher Jackson added two goals and Ian Beaudoin scored once. Scott Shannon found the back of the net twice for the London Knights, with Ryan Wilson, James Amaral and Derrick Farmer all adding a goal each.
