April 2019 Consumer Price Index Report
Today [July 11], Minister for the Cabinet Office Wayne Furbert released the April 2019 Consumer Price Index publication from the Department of Statistics.
Minster Furbert said, “In April 2019 consumers paid 1.0 per cent more for the CPI basket of goods and services than they did in April 2018. Between March 2019 and April 2019 the average cost of all goods and services rose by 0.4 per cent.”
Of the nine sectors in the all items index the largest year-over-year contributors to the April 2019 inflation rate are highlighted below:
- The Rent sector rose 1.8 per cent.
- The Food sector rose 2.4 per cent.
- The Health & Personal Care sector advanced by 2.3 per cent.
