Results: NACAC U18 & U23 Championships
Bermuda’s athletes finished with two medals in the NACAC U18 & U23 Championships in Queretaro, Mexico over the weekend, where they competed against athletes from the Caribbean, the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
President of the Bermuda National Athletics Association Donna Raynor said, “”Our athletes performed well and we finished with two medals from the meet.
“Caitlyn Bobb continued her winning ways by taking first place [gold] in the 400m U18 Female in a time of 53.92. She won her heat to go on to the finals.
“Caitlyn also competed in the 200m U18 females and place third [bronze] overall in a time of 24.53 with Trinidad & Tobago taking the gold in 24.00. She won her heat in 24.00 to get to the finals.
“Nathan Armstrong competed in the 3000m, placing fourth in a time of 9.36.23, with the winning time of 8.42.71 by a Mexican athlete. He also competed in the 1500m, placing fifth overall in a time of 4.22.35, with the winning time of 4.12.63 from Canada.
“Nirobi Mills-Smith competed in the 800m, placing eighth overall with a time of 1.59.56; the winner was from Canada in a time of 1.52.48.
“Stephan Dill competed in the U23 100m and was unable to make it to the finals, but ran a time of 10.97 placing 4th in his heat.
“We have athletes who have just begun competing in the University Games in Nepal, Italy starting this week.”
