Masterworks After-School Programme Enrollment
The Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art’s fall after-school programme begins in September and enrollment is now underway.
A spokesperson said, “Our mission is to promote the importance of art education and facilitate a diversified approach to the visual arts for all ages.
“Additionally, we strive to create a cultural experience across all sectors of the community by keeping the arts in Bermuda alive through the enhanced awareness of its art, history and diverse heritage.
“The programme is open to children aged five to 18, and holds classes for three different age groups.
“Participants aged 5-9 will learn about various mediums and creating artwork using various techniques and styles of the masters. They will also learn the basics of colours, drawing, and painting, creating exciting art projects that tap into children’s’ expressiveness and imagination.
“Classes will be held on Mondays between September 9 – December 16, running from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. The cost is $240 for members or $260 for non-members.
“Students aged 10-14 will review elements of art, including lines, shapes, form, colour, space, and texture. They will then create artwork using these elements by reviewing the artwork of the masters.
“Classes will be held on Wednesdays between September 11 – December 18, running from 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm. The cost is $240 for members or $260 for non members.
“Students aged 15-18 will learn the artistic principles of balance, emphasis, movement, proportion, rhythm, unity and variety and the means to achieve them by studying various styles of artwork.
