$500 For Each Birdie By Each Bermudian
Mr. Malcolm Gosling — President & CEO of Goslings International — announced today the founding of the Birdies for Bermudians program, in conjunction with the inaugural Bermuda Championship.
“The brand Goslings Rum, The Spirit of Bermuda, has pledged $500 for each birdie posted by each Bermudian in the Bermuda Championship, $1000 for each eagle, and $5000 for each albatross [double eagle]. This will be for the entire tournament for each of the five Bermudians in the field,” the organisers said.
“The proceeds raised by Birdies for Bermudians will be donated to Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre. Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre is a registered charity engaged in the prevention, detection and support of cancer and other health concerns in the local community.
“Thursday is Ladies Day at the Bermuda Championship. Tickets for ladies are available for $15 at the gate. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all proceeds from ladies’ ticket sales will be donated to Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
“Fans are encouraged to dress in pink for a chance to win a magnum of Moet Champagne, donated by Mr. Gosling. Judging for the best pink outfit will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Gosling’s Fan Zone.”
