Bermuda Trio & Holland College Win Big

Jade Stewart, Jazae Smith and Symira Lowe-Darrell and their Holland College Women’s Soccer teammates defeated the University of New Brunswick-Saint John [UNBSJ] in Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association [ACAA] regular season soccer action.

The Women’s team used three first-half goals on their way to a 4-0 win, while the men secured the 3-0 victory with a strong second half to defeat the University of New Brunswick-Saint John.

The women entered the night in first place in the standings and used a goal in the 3rd minute by Emily Lepine to give them the early lead. Emily Cormier added another goal in the 27th minute to double their lead and Calandra Bychyk scored in the 40th minute with a header off a corner kick to put the Hurricanes up 3-0 at the half.

In the second half the Hurricanes offense continued to click when Emily Cormier scored in the 54th minute to put Holland College up 4-0.

Sam MacEachern was the winning goalkeeper for the Hurricanes, earning the shutout victory.

With the win, Holland College improve to 6-0-1 and open up a three-point lead over the St. Thomas University [STU] Tommies in the standings.
