PLP To Host Gala Weekend On November 16
The Progressive Labour Party will be holding their 2019 PLP Gala on Saturday, November 16.
A spokesperson said, “The Progressive Labour Party will be holding our 2019 PLP Gala on Saturday, November 16, and invite our members, supporters and friends to join us in celebration. Still going strong after 55 years, we are Bermuda’s oldest and first political party. This year we plan to celebrate Bermudian Excellence by honoring Bermudians of Excellence in various capacities throughout the night.
“Each year we host a banquet where our members, supporters, and friends fellowship with each other and are entertained by wonderful music, inspiring speeches, and conversations with each other, some of whom we don’t see regularly.
“This year, we are excited to have Howard University President, Dr. Wayne Frederick, to deliver the keynote address. Countless students from Bermuda have long enjoyed a thriving relationship with Howard University and there are many Bermudians of Excellence who are Howard alumni. We are honored that Dr. Frederick has accepted our invitation and we are sure his message will be timely and motivating.
“There will also be remarks delivered by our Party Leader & Premier the Hon. E. David Burt, JP, MP.
“Featured Bermudian entertainment includes the CedarBridge Academy Orchestra in addition to Sheila Smith and Jessie Seymour backed by DIA band. General Tickets are $150, Patron tickets $250 and available through ticketing website www.gpass.bm. The 2019 PLP Gala gets underway at 6 pm for cocktails and dinner at 7 pm.
