BCHC MOvember Event Winners
On Friday, November 28, Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre [BCHC]] hosted the Gillette-sponsored ‘MOfinale’ at the Dog House, with a crowd of more than 50 supporters on hand to cheer on the night’s winners.
A spokesperson said, “Growing the MO remains the ultimate sacrifice and was awarded in the following categories:
- Ultimate Mo – A Mo Brother judged purely on the intricate grooming and styling of his Mo. A good outfit helps too! – Will Green; KPMG Bermuda
- Lame Mo – An encouragement award given to our “Facial Folically Challenged” Brethren. –Sayak Choudhury; KPMG Bermuda
- Team Mo – The team to have the best moustache and outfit combination. – Sompo International and Guy Carpenter
- Best Mo in Character – A Mo Brother dressed in character. – Robbie; KPMG Bermuda [Spiderman]
“Non-growing categories:
- Miss MOvember Bermuda – The Mo Sister judged to have the best dressed and full of MOvember.bm spirit. – Rachel – [Team Odd Balls]
- Man of MOvember Bermuda – The ultimate accolade, the man which best embodies MOvember.bm and men’s health. – Sam Perry; KPMG
- Team of MOvember Bermuda – When we look at you there will be no doubt what you did to raise money! – Team Odd Balls
“The month of November saw eight teams [ranging from 2-15 members each] and seven individuals grow moustaches and raise $60,000 by the MOfinale in support of men’s health initiatives in Bermuda.
“The fundraising awards will be announced on December 15th, giving all participants the opportunity to submit their fundraising dollars, including corporate matching no later than 2.00pm on December 6th. Donations are still being accepted through movember.bm to support any of this year’s participants.
“Funds raised by MOvember Bermuda enable Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre to host their annual Men’s Health Screening event. This year’s screening event saw almost 300 men attend and take advantage of a range of free health screening services. Funds raised also support men who do not have health insurance afford prostate consultations, exams, prostate biopsies and radiation therapy treatment.”
